Martin was born quite a long time ago. He'd like to be able to tell you exactly when, but it was so long ago that he can't really remember. However, he would appear to be younger than Neferusobek.
He has only relatively recently managed to cross over from someone who plans novels, to someone who actually writes them. Hence the number of books being published, which have been planned and over-planned for the past few years.
Martin would like to give some very sincere and awed thanks to the Lebanese goddess Haifa Wehbe, who was actually one of the greatest inspirations in empowering him to stop wasting time, start writing and become a published author.
Martin is a very visual writer, and sees his books in his mind almost as films, imagining each scene carefully before writing.
As you might have gathered, if you've read any of his books, Martin's soul lies in Lebanon. He has many good friends there. He loves Arabic culture, music and food.
There are many influences on his writing, both in terms of other authors, but also film and music. Some of the most powerful influences are films like Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris and John Carpenter's Big Trouble In Little China, music like Om, Seigmen, Balqees, Ahlam and a million other Arabic singers, and authors like Peter Straub and John Connolly.
He currently holds the rank of Mukkadam in a small outpost of the Altimsah, with his very own Amari and a little Kayida.
