The Pallification™ Parallax is both a darkly comical satire and also a wild white-knuckle ride through corporate deception, capitalist brutality and the bittersweet joys of revenge.
Seom Jiman is a picture postcard island kingdom west of South Korea in the Yellow Sea. Tens of thousands of tourists flock to the island every year, enjoying the sun, food and easygoing lifestyle.
It’s also home to the Pallification™ Process, a revolutionary skin lightening procedure that has become de rigueur amongst the women of East Asia.
However, it soon becomes apparent that everyone wants a piece of Seom Jiman’s action, and, one by one, the major powers of the world, and some not so major, send special operations teams to seize the Process.
President Park, himself an island of psychopathic calm in a sea of dissent and dissonance, stands firm against all invaders, refusing to even consider handing over the island’s cash cow.
But then the creator of the Process, Professor Mathias Lügner, is murdered, and the world that Park has been fighting hard to keep at bay begins to close in.
